Our Story

Hi, we’re Orlaith, Niamh, Ian and Carl — four friends behind the original idea for PlayIrish, which started in a pub in Sandycove, Ireland.

We wanted to create something fun that spreads Irish culture and good vibes, while also caring for the planet.

When we started exploring the project, we discovered that producing a single tote bag can use up to 902 litres of water, while a cap can require around 387 litres. That pushed us to build a more sustainable, eco-friendly clothing brand.

All our garments are made from organic and recycled materials, produced on demand to minimise waste, and shipped in plastic-free packaging.

Founded in 2026, PlayIrish is an Irish apparel and accessories brand inspired by Irish culture. The brand celebrates a new wave of Irish identity and reflects the ongoing cultural revival in Ireland.

Today, PlayIrish is developed in collaboration with Nextwave Media Limited, the team behind Eirewave, helping us grow the brand and share Irish culture with a wider audience.

Our aim is to create pieces that feel like a statement of connection, culture and pride, while sharing Irish expressions, lifestyle and spirit with the world.
